Playing and enjoying music can be a lifelong pursuit and one of the greatest gifts that can be given to a child. I like to tell parents that it is difficult to play soccer at age 92. But I have had flute students up to that age who still love to play and want to improve! I also have had the pleasure of working with young players who have been accepted into prestigious music schools including those at Indiana University, Rice University and Florida State University. Music study enforces skills in concentration, cooperation and multi-tasking that serve students well in whatever future field they may pursue. In addition to my students at Clemson University in South Carolina, I teach a variety of ages, from young children to adults, at my home studio in Asheville.
